The Malian Armed Forces have recaptured the camp, Haq said, adding that the UN Mission flew two attack helicopters and drones over the site.

Mali descended into conflict after a coup in 2012, and has faced an insurgency led by Islamist militants.
MINUSMA has more than 8,000 military personnel and nearly 1,000 police. It was set up in April 2013 by the UN Security Council. Enditem
