Dubbed the ?UMB New You Promotion? it aims at supporting Ghanaians to achieve their hopes and dreams of education, owning a home or car.

The promotion is a flagship scheme where both existing and new customers of the bank earn points by depositing multiples of GHC200 into their accounts, and points are also awarded for other banking actions, including 50 points for opening of accounts with the UMB.

The promotion being done in partnership with the National Lottery Authority on the Caritas Lottery platform will run from October 8 until the end of December 2014.

Customers with a minimum of 75 points at the end of each month will be entered into a draw to win Samsung Galaxy Tabs with five winners each from the southern and northern zones.

The grand draw would see the ultimate prize winner taking home GHC100,000 and the second prize winner a Hyundai ix35.

Other consolation prizes include Samsung Galaxy tabs and UMB branded gift items.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Mr Stephen Antwi-Asimeng, the Chief Operating Officer of UMB, said the promotion is to encourage Ghanaians to save while rewarding them for their efforts.

Ms Nilla Selormey, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UMB, said the campaign encourages Ghanaians to dream and to strive for that which was previously unobtainable, but may now be possible through the assistance of UMB.

?Whether one is dreaming about a new car, furthering one?s education or purchasing a bigger home for one?s family, the UMB New You Promotion is designed to help facilitate those dreams and bring that New You to life,? she said.

She said primarily, UMB had targeted its existing and prospective individual customers which reinforces UMB?s customer-centric philosophy and it?s you first platform.

?Helping Ghanaians achieve their dreams is important to UMB, but we also wanted to use the New You Promotion as a way to give back to the country that we are proud to call home,? she said.

She said existing customers will automatically receive 50 points at the beginning of the promotion.

Ms Selormey however noted that in order to win these amazing prizes, customers must accumulate at least 75 points in order to qualify to be entered in the grand draw.

?With every deposit, all New You Promotion participants will be informed of their point balance through immediate SMS alerts? she said.

She also noted that in connection with the UMB New You Promotion, UMB will be donating money to charity in Ghana that has championed the efforts of education.

?In this way, UMB is not only helping to fulfill the personal dreams of Ghanaians, but UMB is also contributing to the development of Ghana.

?These actions are indicative of a bank that not only puts its customers first, but its country first as well,? she said.
