Two others, Atsupui Alado, 30, and a 10 year-old boy also sustained serious burns and are currently in critical condition at the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yaw Nketia-Yeboah confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua on Thursday.

He said on Wednesday the police received information that there was a fire outbreak in a house at Koforidua Polytechnic Community Junction, got to the location and saw a mud house on fire.

According to the Regional Police PRO, Atsupui Alado ,30, Kwaku Alado ,10, Prince Alado ,eight, Mansah Alado , seven and Prince Atsu ,four, were asleep in the room which was on fire.

He said Atsupui and Kwaku sustained burns and were rushed to the Regional Hospital, adding that, ?they are currently responding to treatment.?

ASP Nketia-Yeboah the police are investigating the cause of the fire.
