Three journalists died on the spot, while four others were injured

Tragedy struck the media industry on Saturday evening when a truck lost control and crashed into the convoy of the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole, killing three journalists on the spot and leaving four others injured.

Oshiomhole, who was said to be driving himself, escaped the accident unscathed.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck was descending the steep hill along Auchi road, while the governor was coming from a rally at Afuze.

The driver lost control of the truck due to a brake failure and rammed into the middle of the governor’s convoy, crushing the vehicle conveying the journalists.

The three dead journalists were cameramen from the African Independent Television (AIT) and Igbinedion’s Television Station, ITV in Benin.
