An Accra circuit court on Monday sentenced Ussif Wahabu, a trader, to three years imprisonment for possessing and using narcotic drug.

The court, presided over by Justice Ebenezer Osei Darko, sentenced Wahadu on his own plea.

The Prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Patrick Morkeh, told the court that the Police received information that some men were peddling narcotic drug around the Kaneshie/Dansoman lorry station.

He said upon intelligence, the Police arrested Wahadu with a polythene bag containing 180 wrappers of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

DSP Morkeh said after investigations the accused was charged with the offences.
