Toyota Ghana Company Limited has received three top awards from Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) for outstanding performance in sales, marketing and customer service in the 2012 Toyota Marketing Awards Programme.

The company won ?Gold Prize for New Sales Record?; ?The Diamond Prize for Strategic Marketing?– the highest-ranked award in the marketing awards programme; and ?High Customer Service Performance? awards, thus making the company the first Toyota distributor to have received all the three awards in Africa.

Toyota Ghana becomes the first Toyota distributor in Africa to receive the diamond prize, and with the two supporting awards this ranks the company among the best Toyota distributors in the sub-region.

Mr. Makasi Hosoe, Toyota Motor Corporation?s General Manager, Africa Division, presenting the awards to the company in Accra said Toyota Ghana deserves the recognition for the sterling performance in key areas of the company?s operations — selling 3208 units of cars within the year, exhibiting a high sense of customer care — and having satisfied all the requirements for the various categories of the awards programme.

?Toyota Ghana was selected for the awards based on outstanding outputs in sales, growth, market position, and general achievements where the company performed very well.

?Distributors in various African countries have received awards from Toyota Motor Corporation, but this is the first time a distributor from the African region has picked the diamond prize — making Toyota Ghana the best in the region as at now.

?We believe these awards will be a form of motivation to management and staff of Toyota Ghana to work to harder and ensure the continued growth of Toyota?s presence in the country,? he said.

He said Toyota Motor Corporation will continue to support the company to jointly exceed customer expectations, making them happy by providing cutting-edge services and products.

On the issue of recalls, Mr. Hosoe said those actions are usually taken as part of efforts to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.

Mr. Takahiko Takabayashi, Managing Director of Toyota Ghana, said the awards evidence that the corporate vision of building a world-class company offering cutting-edge products and services is on track.

He enjoined management members and staff to be more committed to its ?customer first? philosophy to ensure the total satisfaction of customers.

?It?s no doubt that Toyota Ghana is noted for providing the best vehicle-life and ownership experience to our customers, attributable to the continuous improvements we make to our services and facilities.

?This is not the time to be complacent and relaxed, but rather the awards should motivate us to work even more tirelessly to maintain this position and even do better,? he said.
