Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare

MINISTER of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTC& CA), Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, has called on Ghanaians to explore the countryside in order to know the country better, de-stress and rejuvenate.

Mrs. Ofosu Agyare also called on Ghanaians to invest in the tourism sector since it was profitable.

She was speaking at the inauguration of the reconstituted boards for the National Commission on Culture (NCC) and the National Theatre.

She said her ministry and other stakeholders intended to inculcate the patronage of domestic tourism in the Ghanaian through ?Explore Ghana?, an aggressive domestic tourism awareness campaign billed for take-off on April 3, this year.

The 15-member National Commission on Culture (NCC) is chaired by Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare.  Its members include Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, Member of Parliament for Hohoe and Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovations; Bice Osei-Kuffour (Obour), President of the Musicians Union of Ghana; Micheal Attipoe, Director of Finance and Administration, National Commission on Culture; and Nana Yaa Pomaa, Kodua Agyekuhene. Others are Aku Dzifa Glikpoe, Nana Yaw Kwakye (Omansafoo), and Nana Dwamena Dwebisaw, Nii Kwei Sowa, Patrick K. Dwomoh, Naa Amerley Bamba, Rev. Simon A. Asige and a representative from the National House of Chiefs as members.

The National Theatre Board comprises Prof. Francis Nii-Yartey as chairman, Prof. Kodzo Guava, Prof. Linus Abraham, Dr. Awo Asiedu, Kwame Owusu Sekyere, Hawa Haruna and Elizabeth G.E. Asare.
