Tottenham and Swansea head into Sunday?s showdown at White Hart Lane on the back of impressive Europa League wins. Spurs proved there may be life after Gareth Bale as Andros Townsend inspired Andre Villas-Boas? side to a 5-0 rout of Dinamo Tbilisi. Meanwhile, Swansea swept aside Romanian cup holders Petrolul Ploiesti 5-1 at the Liberty Stadium.

Bale sat out the play-off first leg in Georgia as he edged closer to a world-record move to Real Madrid, although Villas-Boas has denied claims a deal is done. They head into their first home game of the season on the back of an opening day win at Premier League newcomers Crystal Palace.

And they expect to have Jan Vertonghen and Aaron Lennon back in the side after being rested for the midweek trip.

Swansea suffered a 4-1 humbling at the hands of reigning champions Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium last time out, but recovered from it in style on Thursday night.
They face a tough task of beating Spurs on their own ground though as the north Londoners have won nine and lost just one of their last 13 Premier League home games.

Meanwhile Cardiff City host Manchester City in another mouth-watering clash Sunday. Malky Mackay?s newly-promoted Bluebirds will be looking to bounce back after losing their first game of top-flight football in 51 years last Saturday. The 2-0 defeat at West Ham came after goals from Joe Cole and Kevin Nolan in either half.

The Bluebirds need to pick up points quickly and, to add extra spice to the occasion, veteran Craig Bellamy comes up against his old side. But it will be tough to get the win the home fans desire against a Manchester City side who will be full of confidence following their 4-0 demolition of Newcastle last Monday.

New boss Manuel Pellegrini was impressed with his players and called on his side to continue to play ?aggressive? football against the Bluebirds.

He said: ?We tried to play 90-minute football (against the Magpies). I am sure the players are enjoying this way and we will try to continue.

?It was just one match but it is very important to continue this way and at the end of the season, we will see who has won the title.?
