wpid-armed-robbery-300x225.jpgA 32-year-old Togolese laborer, Abubakar Adamu, has been arrested by the Police, for allegedly stealing heavy equipment from an auto-mechanic Shop located at Ashaley Botwe, near Madina, in Accra.

The suspect from Lama Kara, made away with two engines costing of GH?5,000, a gear box and dodged ram 350 control board with its electrical wires also costing GH?3000.

The Adentan District Police Commander, DSP Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu, told newsmen yesterday at his office that, Abubakar Adamu, who was a regular customer, was suspected of the act.

He said when the complainant called him to verify after the theft was detected, he Abubakar admitted committing the act.

The suspect was nabbed by the police at his hide out in La-badi.

DSP Ahiatafu said, upon interrogations, the suspect admitted committing the crime and told the police that, he has sold the said items at the cost of GH?200.

All efforts made by the police to locate buyer of the items proved futile. The suspect has been put before court whiles investigations continue.
