Ghanaian dancehall artist Tinny has described Jamaican superstar Vybz Kartel’s decision to host his December event in Ghana as a testament to the country’s growing musical influence.
In a Property FM interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Tinny emphasized the significance of the booking: “Other African nations would’ve wanted this opportunity. Vybz Kartel choosing Ghana proves we’re progressing the industry must rally behind this.” He recalled that Ghana’s Shatta Wale previously stood as Africa’s sole representative at Kartel’s Jamaican event.
The “Ringtone” hitmaker asserted Ghana’s continental dominance in dancehall, stating: “When it comes to dancehall, Ghana leads in Africa. Kartel will feel at home here.” The event is poised to strengthen cultural ties between Ghana and Jamaica’s reggae-dancehall hub.
