Millicom Ghana, operators of the Tigo mobile network say they intend to make life easier for Ghanaians by providing unlimited Internet services to customers. At a media interaction in Accra today May 8, 2012 to launch the service, the General Manager and CEO of Tigo Ghana, Obafemi Banigbe said the company is set to position itself as the preferred Internet service provider for the people of Ghana.

The unlimited data service is the first in Ghana by any telecoms company.

“We will continue to invest massively in the expansion of high speed wireless broadband network in order to meet the requirements of the Ghanaian consumer so that we can contribute to the overall development of the nation,” he said.

He made a pledge to Ghanaians saying,

 “we want to assure everyone that we are committed o delivering a high quality service to all our customers and where we fall short of this goal, we will work tirelessly to ensure that we address whatever challenges we may face. This is our pledge to the people of Ghana.”

The unlimited products, Tigo says, allows subscribers to browse the Internet unlimited till their package time is exhausted. This is not bandwidth based, but time based it said.

In his address, the Head of Marketing at Tigo, Tenu Awoonor said, despite evolving market trends and increased competition, Tigo still strives to provide quality and affordable services and packages with resolve to maintain the highest standards with no compromise, and in most cases achieves the ultimate goal of customer satisfaction.

He described the new product as

“consumer-oriented internet plan with the promise to herald a new era of unrivalled Internet accessibility which will break Internet barriers and empower users to see more, hear more, do more and ultimately get the best out of life with Tigo’s high speed Internet.”
