Wake Up Ghana Consult, a multimedia consortium based in Ho, recently launched a website in the city to promote the development of the region.

The website was launched by the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Francis Ganyaglo during an event themed, ?Volta Region; Paving the Way for Change and Unity to Foster Development.?

The event was chaired by Togbega Gabusu VI, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area.

The website, which would be managed by potent web administrators, would provide news, articles, research, stories and write-ups to promote public discussion, influence policies and transform the development of the Volta Region.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wake Ghana Consults, King David Suitor said, ?The Wake Up Network Solutions website will ensure that the region?s development is not left in the backburner? it will provide independent analysis, informed debate and influential ideas on how to build a prosperous and secure region for all.?

Togbega Gabusu VI, who lauded the invention, was hopeful that the website would afford the youth the platform to articulate their ideas, problems, among others for the development of the region.

Jemima Bedzra, who presented the keynote address on behalf of Dr. Eric Amakpa, said the launch of the website must challenge the youth in the region to be innovative in their fields of study.

She urged the youth to assess new ideas and projects and shun trivialities.

Mr Bedzra was hopeful the website would put the region on the global map to attract investors to boost the region?s economy.

Launching the website, Mr. Francis Ganyaglo stressed that development is a continuous and comprehensive process which needs consistent developmental policies.

He therefore called on all to play their respective roles to fast-track the region?s development.

He also called for close collaboration between government and NGOs, civil societies and faith based organizations since government would not hesitate to assist such organizations to foster development of any region.

Mr. Ganyoglo said, ?let?s put the past behind and unite as a region and remain positive to attract more investments into the region.?

He advised the operators of the website to research adequately and conduct due diligence before placing items on the website.

He also urged them to liaise with Municipal and District Assemblies.
