The Nigeria Governors Forum(NGF), on Wednesday has hailed the emergence of Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji as Chairman of
the South-East Governors? Forum.
The Governors body in a press release signed by the Director General of the Forum, Asishana Okauru, on Wednesday said Mr.
Orji?s election is an indication of the confidence reposed on him by his colleagues and the people of his geo-political zone.
?With the result-oriented way you have governed Abia State in the past seven years, your ability to provide effective leadership for your colleagues, project issues concerning the zone and rally your people for regional and national development is not in doubt.
?As you take on this challenging leadership role, we urge you to build on the gains of your
predecessor, His Excellency, Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, and continue to lead with the
same kind of openness,professional aplomb, diplomacy and tolerance with which you have governed Abia State,? he said.
Mr. Okauru said the people of the South East zone would look up to the Abia governor for leadership, adding that he has confidence Mr.
Orji will do his best in making life better for the people of the zone.
?Your Excellency should remember that the Secretariat of the Nigeria Governors? Forum is always open and willing to assist in whatever
way it can as you try to deliver services to your people,? he added.
Mr. Okauru also congratulated Governor Peter Obi of Anambra state for conducting an orderly
transition after leading the Forum for years.
?We thank him for his service to Anambra, the South-East Governors Forum and the Nigeria Governors? Forum and wish him well as he
continues to offer valuable services to our country,? he said.
