Nana Akufo-Addo to take another shot at the Presidency
Nana Akufo-Addo to take another shot at the Presidency

Today in the NPP, it is no more about party principles and ideal but worshiping of a huge albatross this is how a friend described the present NPP family. Unfornate as the matter is, I am one person who wouldn?t ever sympathize with those who have planned contesting Akufo-Addo when they open nominations for contest for the flagbearer slot. I hold this position because, if the persons mentioned above, had stood on their grounds to support the truth pointed out by Nyaho Tameklo, Arthur Kennedy, Kwame Pianim, Wereko Brobbey, they wouldn?t have found themselves in this quagmire.

After the elections and the Supreme Court agenda started hitting town, some of us upon deep investigations revealed that, the move to go to court was a deliberate attempt to fight retain the Akufo-Addo system. I stated that, it was just a mind game to seek for sympathy and to unnecessarily incite the support base against the government and to run away from blame for performing abysmally leading to that true defeat. Some NPP stalwarts started reading through that machination and started agitating strongly against the court decision. Obetsebi Lamptey a known strategist in the NPP masterfully crafted the idea in collaboration with Otchere-Darko and the rest to perpetuate the agenda. Many groups were formed to accelerate the idea and unfortunately for most young NPP guys, they lived in oblivion supporting something which was going to impose a cult on them to worship. This move was masterfully crafted with huge resources pumped into it.

These above personalities, mischievously supported this court case and sat nicely beside Akufo-Addo deceiving themselves and enticing watchers of the proceedings. Some unintelligently spoke to the media supporting vehemently the court case and held the position that really Akufo-Addo won the elections, and arms were twisted to favor John Mahama. Whenever I watched them, I felt sad for these personalities knowing where it would end them. I remember chatting inbox with one of NPP young potential materials for the presidential slot and exposing these things to him, he really supported my position on to go back to radio to support that orchestrated agenda. Today, these same persons are in the media doubting the capabilities of Akufo-Addo and coming out with cogent facts to support the fact that Akufo-Addo will ever be rejected by the Ghanaian voter because of certain factors they are privy to.

Some are telling us The NPP?s electoral fortunes continue to dwindle under Akufo-Addo inferring that they really lost the elections, that, the personality Akufo-Addo contributed to their abysmal performance. My position is what stopped these persons then, from coming out with the truth and the throw out the right picture before their support base and to strengthen their chances. The support they gave Akufo-Addo bettered his chances and he is ripping what they helped him sow. In politics, one need to be courageous and strategic, you don?t easily fall into obvious traps of your opponents and expect anything meaningful. Instead of facing the realities of the time, they unwisely supported Akufo-Addo to the court and surrounded him at the court premises to impress watchers of the proceedings. I hope they will learn their lessons and change to support what is right and truthful moving forward.

I have a friend in the NPP, a stalwart of course, a young dynamic person who has the potential of leading the party one day, I intermittently debate him inbox on issues, I have asked him to read deeply into what is happening spearheaded by Gabby and his cohorts and reason fast. He is also related to Kufuor so, why should he sit by watching his uncle or whatever go through this mischievous onslaught from some agenda setters, gradually, he is coming to terms with the reality and behaving like someone planning a perfect political future. You can?t eat your cake and have it, and it must be told to Anane, Apraku and others. All statements emanating from the camp of the NPP after the court ruling and especially during their internal elections campaign suggest that, they knew the elections was genuinely won by the NDC but just followed the masterfully planned move to retain a failed group, stealing allegation from Kennedy Agyepong, Ursula openly accusing her regional executives of abysmal performance, Apraku claiming Akufo-Addo wasn?t attractive to voters and just last Thursday, Akufo-Addo telling us Bawumia came out with a statistics suggesting they performed well at some NDC strongholds and needed to work on increasing votes there, an obvious admission that behind the curtains, the accepted the results and working on it feverishly.

Ending, I will advise my NPP friends to stop ridiculing themselves with that saying that, the NDC was shaken by Akufo-Addo?s address, look if anything at all, this must be a big relief for the NDC knowing the problem his flagbearership would bring to the NPP and the easiness of us going over our prepared notes. I can emphatically say we are going to have an easier and smooth way to walk through and when we begin unleashing the third phase agenda the world admire the political prowess of the NDC, our problem is to deliver our promised agenda to the people of this country but not worrying ourselves over someone appealing to us to retire him at 72+.
