Reggae star of the 90s Victor Essiet- The Mandators was arrested at his hometown in Nsit Ubium, Akwa Ibom state, in relation to an undertaking he signed to pay back a debtor. He is in police custody at Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
This is contrary to the report making the rounds that he was kidnapped or arrested for not turning up for a show he was paid for.

It could be recalled that Mandators was arrested last year on the occasion of his ‘Africa Meets Reggae Concert’ in Lagos, on allegation of fraud and obtaining by pretence the sum amounting to 15million naira from one Maurice Etim.

‘He signed an undertaking to pay back the sum in bits, only to disappear into thin air’. His debtor wants his money back at all cost, and as such went the extra mile to arrest Victor at his home town for the burial of his late brother.
In his words, ‘Mandators is arrested for failing to honour the undertaking he signed last year, I will ensure that the case is taken to court on Monday, 29th June 2015’, Maurice concluded.
