Hearts Coach Duncan Refuses To Blame Goalkeeper Luggard In Kotoko Draw

Hearts coach David Duncan refuses to blame goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard for the blunder which denied Hearts the maximum points against Kotoko on Sunday.

Luggard has been criticized by many Hearts fans for conceding a poor equalizer against the Porcupine Warriors.

He completely missed the flight of a corner kick in the 66th minute which allowed Kotoko midfielder Michael Helegbe to head home into an empty net.

Duncan is refusing to blame his shot-stopper for conceding the poor goal in the 1-1 draw at the Accra sports stadium.

?I don?t think we should single out the goalkeeper for blame. A lot of things preceeded that and that is where our focus should be,? Duncan said

?Granted that he made few mistakes but we had a chance to make it 2-0 but due to some sloppy play in attack, Kotoko capitalized on the counter which resulted in the equalizer.

?I look at it from where the ball was and how we lost possession for the equalizer to be scored.

?We should not blame him. He?s a good goalkeeper and I think he will only get better.?

Hearts are 8th on the Ghana Premier League table with 33 points with six games left to play to end the season.
