Tetteh, Amponsah and Richards for Africa Boxing Championship

  Accra, Feb. 28, GNA – Sulleyman Tetteh, Maxwell Amponsah and Lerrone Richards have secured tickets to participate in the Africa Boxing Championship slated for Morocco from April 27 to May 6.

The trio demonstrated excellent performance in one day justify your inclusion, organised by the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF)as part of preparations to raise a formidable side for the championship.

It attracted the likes of Ambassador Ray Quarcoo, GABF President, Professor Azumah Nelson, former super-Featherweight World Champion and Joseph Agbeko, former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Bantamweight champion, among other dignitaries.

The features saw Abdul Wahid defeating Annan Ampiah 11-9 in the Light Flyweight category, while Patrick Aryee succumbed 8-10 to Samuel Addo in the Bantamweight division.

In another Bantamweight division fight, Jesse Lartey overpowered Isaac Dogbe while Benjamin Lamptey recorded an impressive 10-3 score over Amoo Bediako in the Lightweight category.

Emmanuel Bawowe triumphed over Sulley Mathias 9-5 in the Welterweight category, while Lerrone Richards defeated Emmanuel Mantey 12-5 in their Middleweight category.

In a Light Heavyweight fight between Emmanuel Anim and Joshua Buatsi, the former won 14-12 to end the seven bout event.

Ray Quarcoo said in an interview with GNA Sports that the exercise is one of the many justifiers ahead of the championship in Morocco.

He described the exercise as impressive and expressed the hope that the boxers will improve ahead of the championship.
