Museveni said that all the asbestos roofs should be replaced with modern iron sheets to suite the famous school that has produced high profile people including the second deputy prime minister Gen. Moses Ali among others.

?This asbestos should be removed and be replaced. Government shall do proper way of funding Teso College Aloet,? Museveni said.

He disclosed this on Sunday while presiding over the fundraising for the construction of the library and E-learning center being championed by its alumni.

He pledged sh100m but paid ten million promising that the balance shall be paid soon.

?Even if you are doing some fundraising but that is just a token but we shall have to do proper funding for this college,? Museveni said amidst applause from old students.

Over sh160 million was raised in both cash and pledges. The former students of the College include the leader of opposition in parliament Wafula Oguttu, Musa Ecweru the state minister for disaster, Col. William Omaria, Besweri Akabwai among other high profile leaders serving in various positions.

Museveni hailed the administration of the school for promoting science subjects saying that students who offer sciences find it easy to get jobs.

?If you are a child of a rich man you can study for just knowledge, you can study Latin, Greek just for interest and when you finish you go back and manage your father?s riches. But if you?re a child from a poor man you have to do science subjects that you can easily get jobs,? Museveni said.

Museveni urged students to be disciplined and focused saying Teso College has produced great leaders that they should emulate.

The school headmaster Sylvester Ocatum hailed government for the support rendered to the school. He said the school has embarked on tree planting and so far they have planted over 1000 trees.
