NANA Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem I, Tepamanhene, on Thursday, 16th March, 2017, expressed absolute confidence in the ability of the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah, to help the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to deliver on his promises for the country and in particular the region.

NANA Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem I, Tepamanhene, and Simon Osei-MensahAccording to Tepahene, he has keenly been following the exploits of the minister right from his days as a banker through to his political life and “I’ve no doubt in my mind that this particular minister will transform this region”.

Hon. Osei-Mensah’s appointment to the region ” is to me, a blessing and we the chiefs, especially myself, will make sure I protect him and his interest to succeed for the benefit of all the people in the region.” Nana said.

Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem I, made the disclosure when he paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister at his office.

To the Tepahene, it was time for the people of the Ashanti region to start hopping, and make sure they work with the new minister to restore the region to its glorious days.

The chief laid to bare some of the teething problems bedeviling his town and urged the minister to take a closer look at them and help solve them.

Nana Adusei, mentioned projects like the Tepa market, township roads, the Tepa Hospital project and among others as projects he wants the minister to tackle.

The minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, on his part reassured to work closely with the traditional authorities of the region, to make sure the people of the region become the beneficiary of the many policies of the NPP government.

According to the regional minister, he does not want the progress of the region to delay, and will therefore, provide the needed platform to fast track the growth of the region, riding on the back of the traditional leaders in the region.

On the Tepa township road project, the minister said he will discuss with the Road Minister and find ways to complete the project.

He reiterated his resolve not to let any governmental projects go waste, adding that “until we all see governmental projects as our own, the nation will continue to throw monies away while projects meant to cushion the people go waste.”

Mr Osei-Mensah said the NPP government, led by President Nana Akufo-Addo, will not let any project of the state go waste, irrespective of the government that started it, stressing that they, the NPP government, will make sure what is necessary to push the development of the country is pursued.

He also intends to visit Tepa to see things for himself so to be able to adequately find the best solutions to the many developmental challenges of the area.

Hon. Osei-Mensah said he was honoured and humbled by the fact that “I have such great chief personally paying a visit to me and with this gesture, I’m confident that my work here as a minister will bear the necessary fruits and make us prosper.”

Earlier, Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem I, presented a “royal” cloth to the minister as the unity and “special bond” between the two.
