US: Teen being denied heart transplant because of bad grades

Anthony Stokes has an enlarged heart and is in desperate need of a transplant but, according to his family, the 15-year-old is being denied a new heart because he got bad grades in school. Stokes was reportedly found not to be a transplant candidate because he ?[has] a history of noncompliance.? According to Stokes? family, the doctors? put him in the noncompliant category because ?they don?t have any evidence that he would take his medicine or go to his follow-ups,? in addition to his poor grades and some minor trouble with the law. Without a transplant, the boy has six months to live. ?They?ve given him a death sentence,? a Southern Christian Leadership Conference representative said. [Source]
