Teams that fail to show up would be disqualified 

The organisers of the ongoing 3rd Soccer Gold Cup Football Competition for U-13 and U- 15 have warned that teams who fail to turn up 30 minutes before their matches would be made to pay a fine of N1,000.The sanction they said is  regardless of where the team is based.

Donatus Okeke, an official-in-charge of Protocol and Security at the tournament, said any team that failed to show up at all, without a valid excuse to match officials, would in addition be disqualified from further participation in the competition.

According to him, some teams are in the habit of late coming and these compel matches to last beyond the 4:00 p.m. closing time. He cautioned the teams to be punctual for their matches as scheduled.

Okeke said, “We did not plan for the competition to last into late evenings. We planned that by 4:00 p.m., all teams would have played their games”

The competition began on August 12 and would come to and end on August 28. The  matches are scheduled to commence daily at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
