Teachers have been called upon to look at best examples, models and methodologies that had worked and helped in improving education delivery and replicate for quality education service delivery in the country.

Mr. Eddie Prah, a Management Consultant and facilitator at a day?s workshop for teachers at Takoradi also entreated them to find innovative ways of transmitting knowledge to students in a more applicable and friendly manner aimed at enhancing quality education.

The Workshop organised by the Catholic Educational and sponsored by STAR-Ghana was on the theme: ?Peer Learning for Quality Education? and was meant to share demonstrated best practices, models and stories that had worked in enhancing quality education.

Head teachers, managers of schools, supervisors, retired educationists and teachers identified critical areas of innovative learning in education delivery in terms of teacher deployment, community participation, and health status and disability access.

Ms Rosemond Austin, Western Regional Manager of Catholic Educational Unit stakeholders have identified lots of challenges affecting quality education delivery and thereby responding to these challenges through innovation and creativity.

She added that often teachers engulfed themselves with problems with regards to education delivery rather than looking at ways to encourage students to do better.

Ms Rebecca Dadzie, Former Western Regional Director of Education identified imbalance in teacher deployment as one critical area of concern.

She added that over or under staffing in some schools had either led to teachers wasting contact hours or mismanagement.

Mr. Eddie Prah, Management Consultant and facilitator stressed the need for more teachers training colleges to produce more teachers.

He also encouraged graduate who are currently unemployed to venture into teaching as means of making up for the shortage of teachers.
