Tanzanian President John Magufuli on Tuesday revoked appointments of two officials of Morogoro region’s Malinyi district over squabbling.

A statement by the Directorate of Presidential Communication at State House in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam said the president revoked the appointments of Malinyi district commissioner Majura Mateko Kasika and the district’s executive director Mussa Elias Mnyeti.

The statement said the two officials will be replaced in due course.

Magufuli’s decision to revoke the appointments of the two officials came just a day after Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa decried a tendency of some presidential appointees in Malinyi district who fueled animosity among themselves.

“It’s a shame that President Magufuli appointed young men to take leadership positions but all people hear animosity among these two presidential appointees,” said Majaliwa during his official visit to Morogoro region. Enditem
