The sponsor provides training and playing kits to both clubs as part of their contractual agreement. The kits, worth 40m/-, include balls, shoes, socks, shin guards, casual wears, shoes, goalkeeping gloves and sandals.

Kilimanjaro Premium Lager Brand Manager Pamela Kikuli said the clubs received high quality kits, adding that she expects them to produce good performances on the pitch.

?We?re giving you these kits before the start of the league so that you can have enough time to prepare for the coming rounds of the 2014/15 season that will certainly be very challenging for both clubs. We believe that the secret behind success in games is good preparation,? she said.

?It is our expectations that new players who have been signed by Simba and Yanga will enjoy playing for these oldest clubs and represent us well,? she added.

Kikuli said as main sponsor of Simba and Yanga, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager believes their relationship with the two giants, who enjoy massive support in the country, is crucial towards the development of the game.

?We?ll keep observing our responsibility for these clubs and as always we?ll make sure that we take Tanzania football to new heights,? she said.

Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) has been sponsoring the two teams for the past six years through its brand, Kilimanjaro Premium Lager, with a view to bolstering the teams? performances and consequently inspiring competitiveness in the top flight football.

In 2011, the company renewed the previous three-year sponsorship deal with the two clubs when they signed another three-year extension worth about 5bn/-.

Simba secretary general Stephen Ally and Yanga spokesperson Omary Kaya, who represented their clubs at the handing over ceremony, thanked the firm for the support.

Yanga, who are currently second on the league table, face a daunting task against defending champions Azam on Sunday at the National Stadium, while Simba take on Kagera Sugar on Friday at the same venue.
