The District Chief Executive for Tain in the Brong Ahafo region, Hon. Esther Akua Foriwaa Dwomoh has revealed that her administration will support two best performing candidates in each of the four examination centres in the District. She made the revelation during a visit to three of the examination centres in the District where the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination is being written.
 
Addressing the candidates prior to handing over one thousand, three hundred and thirty five mathematical sets to each of them at Debibi, Nsawkaw and Badu Hon. Dwomoh said with the implementation of the Free Senior High School in September by the Nana Akufo Addo administration, the District will support a boy and a girl from each of the four zones with upkeep money throughout their secondary education. She further promised to support every student who will offer professional, as well as Science and Mathematics related programmes at the Tertiary level. She therefore charged the candidates to eschew cheating and work hard to excel in the examination. “I am entering into a contract with you today, I am giving you my mathematical sets but you have to pass and pass well for me” she told the candidates.
The District Chief Executive said aside of health her next priority is education. “If we put all the infrastructure in place and there are no people from the District to occupy them, what will we have achieved”, Hon. Dwomoh quizzed. She was optimistic that with the Free Senior High School policy, candidates will be motivated to give off their best to take advantage of the policy. A candidate of Nsawkaw Methodist Junior High School, Ms Kezia Agyeiwaa on behalf of her colleagues expressed appreciation to the District Chief Executive for the gesture. In all, the District is presenting one thousand, three hundred and thirty one candidates for the examination out of which four were absent at the Badu Centre as a result of ill health.
The District Chief Executive was accompanied by officials of the Tain District Assembly as well as constituency executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Tain Constituency.
