Residents and workers who use the Spintex road were on Tuesday morning left stranded and unable to move from and out of the area due to traffic created at the Synagogue, Church of All Nations.?

This because the Nigerian head of the church, T. B. Joshua has arrived in the country and is holding a church service at the spintex road branch of the church.?The traffic has been reported to have lasted for hours and is yet to fully ease out.?

According to residents who have called into Citi Fm and sending text messages, members and people attending the church service have parked haphazardly along the road which is already narrow thus creating heavy traffic on the stretch.?

One of the residents who spoke to Citi News described what she saw when she got to a part of the road by 6am.?

?I woke up very early this morning in order to get to Dansoman so by 6am I was on the road. On getting to the Coca Cola roundabout on the spintex road, the traffic started mounting and that is unusual at this time. This traffic was jammed and within ten minutes, there were three lanes because Ghanaians like to maneuver. I spent about two hours in traffic before I was able to get out.?

He said by the time he made it out of the traffic, the police had arrived to help ease the traffic.?

?So I made some inquiries and was told that TB Joshua was having a preaching program at Manet. In the next 30mins the police came there and started helping ease the traffic. People had gotten out of their cars and were walking on the road and travelling a bit further towards Takyi Plaza, there was a big space where people had started parking their vehicles and walking back to Manet.?

Prophet T. B. Joshua is controversial in Ghana due to his relationship with late President John Atta Mills.?

Meanwhile Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, DSP Freeman Tettey in an interview with Citi News said the police is on the ground to control traffic.?

?We are aware and have our men on the ground but what happens is that you can have men on the ground but the capacity to control the traffic may not be there. The place is a very narrow place. The MTTU is currently there to attend to the difficulties,? he said.?
