Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari saw full time action for the first time this season after playing entire duration for AC Milan in their 1-1 draw with ten-man Cagliari on Sunday in the Serie A.

The 28-year-old has had an inconsistent second-half of the season since recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury in December.

However after netting in the Rossoneris? 9-2 heavy win over lower-tier side, Sant?Angelo Lodigiano, Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri handed him a starting spot in a diamond midfield featuring Mathieu Flamini and Massimo Ambrosini.

The former Inter Milan hard-tackler gave a good account of himself in midfield and could play a key role in Milan?s UEFA  Champions League tie against Spanish giants Barcelona on Tuesday.

Compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng came off the bench just after the hour mark to replace Stephan El Shaarawy.

Milan needed a late penalty from Mario Balotelli to draw 1-1 at the Stadio Is Arenas.
