Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has backed the appointment of Clarence Seedorf as Milan?s new head coach.

The Dutchman has already overseen one game in charge since taking over from Massiliano Allegri on January 13 and that was a 1-0 win over Hellas Verona last Sunday.

Muntari, who is currently recovering from an injury in his homeland, believes that the 37-year-old?s appointment was a wise one.

?He has played for Milan before and he is a top professional who knows the ins and outs of the club, and I was not surprised when he was appointed as the new manager,? Muntari told Football411.

?I played with him some time ago when he was with Milan for one year before he moved to Brazil, he was a good friend personally and a very intelligent footballer who always wanted to win.

?His track record for AC Milan is great. He achieved a lot as a footballer, but managing a team will not be easy, but we, the experienced ones, will try and support him.

?We want to qualify to the UEFA Champions league next season. Our position on the league log is not good and we will try as much as possible to achieve that together.?
