Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC) on Tuesday reaffirmed commitment to negotiation with major opposition forces, vowing no tolerance of chaos.

“We are committed to dialogue and a solution that is satisfactory to all parties,” said Mohamed Hamdan Daqlu, deputy chairman of TMC, at a press conference.

However, the council would not tolerate chaos, as “chaos will be dealt with according to the law,” he added.

Meanwhile, Daqlu revealed that 12 military personnel have been killed and more than 100 others injured since the ouster of President Omar al-Bashir.

“There were attacks against security offices and regular forces, where 12 military men have been killed and more than 100 others injured,” he said.

In addition, the ongoing sit-in in front of the army’s general headquarters in the capital Khartoum will not be dispersed, the deputy chairman added.

“We have even told them (protesters) that we do not mind their sit-ins and that we will provide food” during the month of Ramadan, Daqlu noted.

On Monday, the TMC and the opposition Freedom and Change Alliance concluded the third round of talks without reaching consensus on formation of a civilian government.

After Monday’s talks, the opposition alliance called for continuing the sit-in and holding night protests in the capital Khartoum.
