Sudan on Wednesday received bodies of its five army soldiers killed during battles in Yemen, where the Sudanese army is fighting within the forces of the Arab alliance.

The army’s Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. Yahya Mohamed Khair was at the reception at an air base in Khartoum before the deceased were laid to rest at al-Sahafa cemetery south of the city, according to a Sudanese army statement.

The Sudanese army announced earlier Wednesday that five of its soldiers were killed and 22 others injured in battles in Yemen.

Sudan has been taking part in the operations of the Saudi-led Arab coalition against the Houthi Group in Yemen since March 26, 2015. Enditem
