Former Captain of Ghana?s national football team, the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah was in August last year, unveiled as the honouree of ?2012 Showbiz Honours? at the Holiday Inn Hotel.

While the main event was supposed to start in September last year with series of events, including a football match, a free musical concert, and a walk for charity to honour the legendary footballer, the event was postponed to this year due to circumstances beyond control. But as the organizers, Emklan Entertainment promised the media that the event would be coming off this year, they organized a media soir?e at Western Premier Hotel this weekend, to alert the media about their plans for Showbiz Honours and to thank the media for being supportive throughout their difficult times.

Although it was supposed to be a media soiree, Ghanaian celebrities like Eddie Nartey , Prince David Osei, Gloria Sarfo, Becca, Nana Ama Mcbrown and her boyfriend (Maxwell) , GiftyOsei, Vivian Achor and others graced the ocasion to support Emklan Entertainment and Stephen Appiah.

After the press soiree, Stacy Amoateng, wife of OkyeameQuophi, revealed to Flex newspaper that the event will start from 21st September to 28 September with a celebrity match in Kumasi. Four plots of land at Dodowa will be added to Stephen Appiah?s previously announced prizes of GHc22,000, an office space for a year to operate his StepApp Foundation which gives back to society, and a fully sponsored weekend trip to any destination of his choice.

Fans who want to get more updates about the program and Stephen Appiah should text Stephen Appiah to 1402 to follow Stephen and Showbiz Honours. On record, Stephen Appiah who took over the baton from Nadia Buari was chosen because of his numerous successes including being the first captain to lead Ghana to its first World Cup at Germany 2006.
