National Football League (NFL) star Stefon Diggs has revealed he and pregnant rapper Cardi B are expecting a boy, their first child together, ahead of the anticipated arrival coming very soon.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the 2025 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards on Monday, November 3, the New England Patriots wide receiver, 31, opened up about his baby on the way with Cardi B, revealing the sex of their little one and what he’s most excited to do when the newborn arrives.
It’s a boy. That’s enough for me, Diggs told PEOPLE. I can’t wait to make him do push ups and sit ups and run around. The NFL player, already father to his 9 year old daughter Nova from a previous relationship, expressed his excitement about finally becoming a boy dad.
Elsewhere at the event, Diggs spoke with Extra and shared that he and the Am I the Drama? artist were expecting their baby together real soon. It’s supposed to happen real soon, so wish us both luck, he told the outlet.
Cardi, 32, first revealed in an interview on CBS Mornings back in September that she’s pregnant with her fourth child, due before her Little Miss Drama tour launches in February 2026. I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, Cardi B told anchor Gayle King in a pre taped interview.
Responding to King’s messages of congratulations, Cardi, born Belcalis Almánzar, expressed her thanks and shared, “I’m excited. I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
The Grammy winner, who shares kids Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 13 months, with estranged husband Offset, also praised Stefon for empowering her to go after her goals. He makes me feel very confident, she continued. Feeling safe is feeling confident, feeling like you could do it. And it makes you feel like you could take over the world.
Cardi and Diggs began dating in October 2024, shortly after the rapper filed for divorce from Offset following seven years of marriage. The couple went public with their relationship in May 2025 when they were photographed together at various events.
Though Cardi hasn’t revealed the exact details of how she met Stefon, she has said they connected through mutual friends. I thought he was cute, she said during a September 2025 episode of the Today show, noting they connected through people they both knew.
The rapper was recently spotted at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday, November 2, cheering on Diggs during the Patriots’ game against the Atlanta Falcons. She was seen enthusiastically celebrating from Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s VIP suite when Diggs scored a touchdown during the second quarter.
After the Patriots secured their victory, Cardi continued the celebration online, sharing her excitement with fans on social media, writing: Big Patriots! Big touchdown from number eight!
The baby boy will be Cardi B’s second son and fourth child overall. For Diggs, this marks his second child, as he has a daughter from a previous relationship. The wide receiver has been involved in a paternity suit filed by model Aileen Lopera, who claims he is the father of her child born in April 2025. Diggs has contested the allegation and requested genetic testing to determine paternity, according to court documents obtained by People magazine.
Cardi addressed the paternity controversy on social media shortly after announcing her pregnancy with Diggs. In a September 2025 video that appeared to reference the drama, she gave a nod to the lyrics of Shirley Brown’s song Woman to Woman, saying: Hello, Barbara. This is Shirley. That’s your baby daddy? That’s my baby daddy, too. Well what now? I don’t know. We’ll figure it out.
Despite the controversy, the couple appears to be focused on their upcoming arrival and their respective careers. Cardi has been preparing for both her album release and tour while managing her pregnancy. Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re in the same space in our careers. The rapper released her sophomore album Am I the Drama? on September 19, 2025, nearly seven years after her debut album Invasion of Privacy. She announced her Little Miss Drama tour the day before revealing her pregnancy, with shows scheduled to begin February 11, 2026, in Palm Desert, California, and conclude April 17 in Atlanta.
When asked about balancing her pregnancy with her career ambitions, Cardi emphasized that her condition would not slow her down. I want this really bad, she said in a video posted to Instagram. By the time the tour comes, I’ll be doing splits, somersaults, backflips, and handstands.
Diggs has been supportive of Cardi’s career goals, commenting on her Instagram posts about the album and tour.
