Stanbic Ghana has launched a Visa card promotion to encourage customers to swipe their cards in payment, for goods and services at Point of Sales (POS) and in online transactions.

The promotion, dubbed ‘Visa Swipe to AFCON Campaign,’ run in partnership with Visa Worldwide, would give the highest card user together with his/her partner, a travel package to Egypt to watch the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

For the three-month period of the campaign, the top five users would be recognized and rewarded every month.

At the end of the third month, the top 20 customers would be put in a draw for the five winners to be selected and rewarded with double tickets to watch a game at the AFCON with their partner in Egypt or with a ward, who would get the opportunity to walk the players unto the field before game starts.

Stanbic Debit and Credit card users are to use their cards for payments of goods and services via POS or online.

Each customer is expected to swipe (use card) a minimum of 14 times in a month to stand a chance of winning 1 out of 5 double tickets for the AFCON in Egypt.

Nana Dwemoh Benneh, Head of Personal and Business Banking in launching the campaign, said the Visa promotion added to the exciting customer focused promotions and services planned for the year to ensure an enhanced banking experience for customers.

“For the past years we have always brought you products and services to meet the various needs of our cherished customers in Ghana and beyond. Today in partnership with Visa, we bring you something that is slightly different.

“We bring you a card that is a gateway to other forms of payments and gives you access to a whole new world of digital banking. We hope that through this campaign we will encourage most of our cherished and potential customers to get used to new banking through their cards in the comfort of their homes,” he said.

Harry Opoku Agyemang, Head of Personal Marketing said the campaign was a way to reward customers for using their Visa cards.

He said paying for goods and services with a Stanbic Visa Card provided customers convenience and safety, as well as the ability to track spending through an SMS alert after each transaction.

He encouraged existing and new Stanbic customers with Visa cards to start swiping to pay for goods and services at shopping centres, restaurants and hotels or online, to qualify for the promotion.

Adoma Pepprah, Country Manager of Visa said her outfit was proud to be associated with the campaign.

She Visa was the official payment platform for AFCON for the next two years.

She said Visa had supported major sporting events across the globe and would continue to provide their support for events that would promote the continent as and when the opportunities come.
