Spotify has launched its 2025 Wrapped experience, offering users across Sub-Saharan Africa a personalized review of their listening habits throughout the year. The annual feature is now available exclusively on the mobile app for both free and premium subscribers.
The music streaming platform first introduced Wrapped in its current form in 2015 and has continuously expanded the experience based on user feedback. This year’s edition includes nearly a dozen new features alongside returning favorites that showcase individual listening patterns across music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
To access the personalized experience, users must have streamed at least 30 songs for more than 30 seconds each and listened to at least five different artists during 2025. Streams from Private Mode or excluded playlists do not count toward eligibility.
The 2025 edition introduces several first-time features. Listening Age compares the release years of tracks users favor against others in their age group. Top Albums spotlights the albums listeners returned to repeatedly throughout the year. Top Artist Sprint visualizes how top five artists shifted in personal rankings month by month.
The Fan Leaderboard shows where users rank among their favorite artist’s global listeners based on total minutes listened. Clubs sorts users into six categories representing unique listening styles. Listening Archive delivers up to five AI-powered reports based on memorable streaming days, available in English in select markets.
Wrapped Party debuts as an interactive competition feature allowing friends to compete using their listening data. Users can access it through the Wrapped Hub, by searching within Spotify, or at the end of their personalized experience.
Classic features return including Minutes Listened, Top Songs with accompanying playlists, Top Artists, Top Genres, and Top Podcasts. The Top Songs playlist now displays how many times each of the top 100 tracks was streamed.
New controls allow users to adjust the speed of their Wrapped experience and jump to specific moments without restarting from the beginning. Share cards enable direct sharing to friends via Spotify Messages or posting to social media platforms.
The Wrapped feed appears at the top of the Home screen and serves as a central hub for personalized data stories, editor-curated playlists featuring African and global highlights, and special messages from artists, podcasters, and authors.
According to Spotify, the platform is extending Wrapped celebrations beyond the app with pop-up experiences and special activations across Sub-Saharan Africa and globally. Artists, songwriters, and podcast creators receive their own individualized Wrapped microsites to explore how fans connected with their work.
Users can access their 2025 Wrapped by updating to the latest Spotify app version and searching for “2025 Wrapped” or finding the Wrapped feed on their Home screen. The experience reflects listening patterns from local breakout acts and regional favorites to global superstars across genres including Afrobeats, amapiano, Gengetone, gospel, hip-hop, and R&B.
