Ghanaian football authorizes remain quiet on the outstanding wining bonuses owed players of the Black Stars, two months after team walloped Mauritius in the opening 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The country?s sports ministry is under mounting pressure to pay the $10,000 each which has been outstanding for more than eight weeks.

The West African nation is under financial stress which has crippled the preparations of various disciplines ahead of the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.

While authorities have been going in circles over a widely reported slash of the winning bonuses to $5,000, reports of disquiet among the players is just refusing to wash away following the long delay.

?We at the ministry of sports are not responsible for the delay. We have written to the ministry of finance. We don?t know why payment is taking much time,? spokesman for the sports ministry Otor Plaha told Kumasi-based Ultimate FM.

?Our job at the sports ministry is to facilitate payment. We don?t pay money. So until the finance ministry releases the funds, we can?t tell you when the players will be paid.

The Black Stars will take on Rwanda in their next qualifier on September 6.
