Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Principal of the Institute , Hettie Mercer-Ricketts, stated that the institute?s existence for the past two years has been on their guiding vision and mission, which are to train people who lack the professional capacity as Massage Therapists and opening doors for them for meaningful employment.

She also averred that the Institute provides student with the knowledge and skills to elevate the body care services industry to international standards, adding that students graduating from the institute also have huge potentials to make impact in various other fields beyond the salon. “They are employable in the media industry as beauty care experts or product development executives in cosmetic companies, in hospitals, day spas, medical centers, wellness centers, hotels and rehabs,” she added.

Hettie Mercer-Ricketts also averred that, “Massage therapy also has a number of documented clinical benefits. Some medical conditions that massage therapy can help are bronchitis, anxiety, stress, arthritis, asthma, circulatory problems among others.

Mr. Stephen Amponsah, Executive Director of the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), noted that the changing times and society is putting huge demand for smart and strategic thinkers who will be able to set in motion relevant and responsive programs as a shore up for human existence.
