South African Football Association has finally confirmed the friendly encounter with Ghana on October 11 in Durban after days of speculations in the local media.

The Black Stars will lock horns with Uganda in Group E opener of the 2018 Fifa World Cup final qualifying round on October 7 in Tamale, and will travel two days later to South Africa for the friendly.

“Bafana Bafana will face the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday, 11 October in an international friendly match that will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban,” a statement from Safa’s website read.

“Kickoff is at 19h00 and tickets are already on sale at R80 all round. They can be purchased at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers,” the statement added.

Ghana coach Avram Grant aims to use the game as a dress rehearsal for the next qualifying game against Egypt in November, while South Africa will also hope to have a stiffer opposition as they prepare to lock horns with Senegal in Group D of the qualifiers.
