As part of its efforts of enhancing the Ghanaian tourism and hospitality sector, African’s leading hotel booking company called Soultravels has taken another judicious step by outdooring “Soultravels Tourism Booking Portal”.

This an innovative portal was basically designed to save travelers from all the hustles they have been going through when looking for a hotel to book.

It obvious that, the e-commerce space in Ghana keeps growing astronomically and the travel sector is one industry that has greatly contributed to this growth.

Briefing the media in Accra, under the theme: “Introducing a New Software” the Chief Executive Officer of Soultravels Mr. Asante Solomon, said their outfit has seen a tremendous growth so far with over 150 hotels already being listed on the company’s website. This he said, more hotels are also yearning to come board as a result of the great work they are doing.

According to him, as part of their corporate Social responsibility they also offering a free diploma course in Hotel Management for all hotels agencies that will enroll on the Portal with the aim of helping the travel & tourism market to grow. We want the tourism Authority and Ministry to endorse it and also have a feel of it.

Adding that, they are very keen on making sure that all and sundry could find and book hotels online as; since they believe this would also go a long way towards growing the tourism industry in Ghana.

The Country Manager (Ghana) of Soultravels Mr. Kofi Obuobi, said in order to boost sector; there is a need to embrace the emerging technologies and also make a judicious use of them.

According to him, lack of support from the government has been the major challenge hampering their service delivery as they are striving to promote e- commerce in the country.

This he said, in attempt to engage with the authorities to present theirs ideas to them to help strengthen the industry proved futile.
He has therefore entreated the government and all the industry players to edeavour to open their doors to them in order to work closely with them to achieve the desired results.

Since there is still unlimited potential and Ghana as a country must increase efforts to tap into this sector of the industry.
