The Deputy Northern Regional Minister and NPP Member of Parliament for Bunkprugu Constituency, Hon. Solomon Boa, has encouraged women in the Region not to relent on their efforts but continue to strive to add value to whatever jobs or activities they are engaged in to make their lives better.

He also urged them to be bold in taking up leadership positions as that is another sure way of getting their voices heard on issues bothering them, so that appropriate solutions would be found.

The Deputy Regional Minister was speaking at the Young Urban Women Conference held in Tamale at the Catholic Guest House to deliberate on ways and means of assisting young women across the country and strengthen their collective power and actively participation in their own development and the development of their communities, region and country.

According to Solomon Boa the Nana Akuffo Addo’s government places great importance on the youth as the major constituent of Ghana’s human capital for the transformational agenda and that, a number of intervention is being undertaken by government to ease challenges faced by women including the implementing of the Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking and Disability Acts and apportioning 30% of available public position offices to women.

He added that he would add his voice to ensure that 50% of MASLOC funds are set aside for female applicants to support their craft enterprises in the region, and averred that efforts of NGO’s such as Action Aid and NORSAAC are greatly impacting on young women in the region and encouraged them to continue to assist government efforts in bringing development to the people.

Mr. Boar who received the Movement’s document detailing their demands, assured them that, their demands would reach His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo and in no time, the Movement would be called upon to deliberate on how best their demands can be met.

Participants at the conference lauded the affable nature of the Deputy Regional Minister and indicated that, he has been very active in the forefront of ensuring the betterment of the people.

It is no doubt that, the Deputy Regional Minister who has been hailed by many, commands respect and trust from the masses and continue to be at the heart of his constituents.
