Solomon Asante was the star-man for TP Mazembe as he set up their match winner in their narrow 1-0 win over Stade de Malien to book their place in this season?s CAF Confederations Cup final.

The diminutive 23-year-old wing-wizard employed his extraordinary gift to win a penalty for the Ravens which was expertly turned in by Tresor Mputu under seven minutes.

Mazembe took a giant step toward reaching the final after beating the Malians 2-1 in thfirst-leg in Bamako two weeks ago. e

With the title-favourites returning to their favourite Stade du Mazembe, the generation expectation was qualification but it took the talent of Asante to win the tie for them; scrolling down the right before trekking in the visitors box and winning a foul.

?It was a great victory for us qualifying for the final. I?m very happy I played a key role once more for my club. I won the penalty. I?m happy to be playing in the Confederations Cup final for the time,? he told GHANAsoccernet.com after the game.

While Asante was displaying incisive passing and trickery in the game, compatriot Gladson Awako came off the bench in the 64th minute to replace Daniel Nii Adjei.

However, defender Yaw Frimpong was not involved in the game for his side while Richard Kissi Boateng was suspended for the game.
