The third Ghana SME Expo dubbed, Business Sense 2013, an international exhibition and conference designed specifically for businesses opens in Accra today at the National Theatre. This important event, under the theme, ?Empowering SMEs through Finance and Knowledge? is organized by OML Africa. Taking part in this year?s Business Sense are over 30 SMEs, nearly 60 delegates and an expected audience of 2,000 visitors made up of CEOs, MDs, business owners, entrepreneurs and people who want to start their own businesses.

The timing of this year?s expo is very appropriate because business owners need to take stock of what worked well for them and what did not, find the reasons and restrategise and prepare sufficiently, using modern methods and best practices, for 2014?.

?The third Ghana SME Expo is therefore designed for anyone starting a business or expanding a business in Ghana. With a conference, exhibition, one-to-one advice and networking events, it is the perfect opportunity to find all the tools and information to start and develop a profitable and sustainable business in Ghana.? He added, ?This event has been crafted with the needs of the small business in mind. Therefore, issues of acquisition of capital and SME funding have been given prominence with a special SME Finance Day set aside for delegates to meet SME loan providers, venture capitalists, micro finance companies, local and foreign institutions.?

International speakers and local experts will address Managing Directors, Executive Directors, CEOs, Business Owners, Business Development Managers on all key areas of business including but not limited to writing of business plans, the use of the internet in maximizing returns for small businesses, accessing capital, , accounting, marketing, sales, human resource management, etc.

Some key speakers include Darlene McGregor, CEO, Max International, Canada; Dr Daniel Quaye, University of Ghana Business School; Matthew Boadu-Adjei, CEO, Oasis Capital; Maureen Odoi, Co-Founder, Africa Aurora; Mintah Gyampoh, Executive Director, Chemitech Lubricants; Anita Wiafe-Asinor, CEO, OML Africa and many other reputable business experts. There will also be representatives from the Ghana Private Sector Development Fund, Ghana Angel Investors Fund, MT Micro Finance, the MSME Project of the Ministry of Trade who will address conference delegates on how to successfully apply for their SME loans.
