Contestants take note of Citi Sports? Gary Al-Smith as he gives tips on how to pass the #SpeedChallenge screening.

Sixteen sport enthusiasts have made it into the final rounds of the Citi Sports Speed Challenge. The group was selected after a screening process was held at the premises of Citi FM on Saturday.
The Speed Challenge is a concept that seeks to allow listeners of Citi FM to pitch their general knowledge prowess against each other. It is also to increase the interactivity of the sports team and the general audience.
Above all, it?s designed to liven up and educate sports lovers. The winner walks away after seven weeks with some great prizes.

Citi Sports editor Godfred Akoto Boafo anchored the over hour-long screening that was live on air. He was assisted by his colleagues on the desk: Nathan Quao, who was in charge of collation and scoring and Gary Al-Smith, who briefed and prepped the contestants.
In all, there were six rounds for the tens of sports fans who showed up. Fourteen valiant young men were left standing, while the others were tied.
A sudden death Q&A was organized to get two more to complete the set.
The selected 16 will engage in a friendly battle of wits and brains till the last man is left standing. The programme will last over seven weeks.
The final sixteen
A motley collection of mostly young men made it to the competition proper. They are Elinam Tamakloe, Michael Okai, Nii Adotey , Samuel Atopley, Eddie Walker, Effah Fosu and Edmund Ayoka.
The others are Benjamin Kwakye, Derrick MacCarthy, Paa Kwesi Asante, and Patrick Nyarko. To complete the set are Evans Annang, Lester Botchway, Dickson Wornah  and Akyer Amoquandoh.
The Speed Challenge begins on June 8. Four contestants will slug it out each week for four weeks. Two winners qualify every week until the sixteen names are whittled to eight.
These eight will make it to the quarter-finals.
In the quarter finals, which will last over two weeks of quizzes, the competition will undoubtedly become keener as the questions become hotter.
Following that, only four will be left and they make it to the semis.
The grand finale will be on June 13, when the last two contestants slug it out in the studios to reveal the ultimate speed challenger.
The official hashtag for the competition is #SpeedChallenge.
