Six government soldiers in Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland died Sunday in a road accident, hospital reports say. Mali
The soldiers, attached to the presidential security unit, were traveling from their military base in Tukaraq to the Garowe when their vehicle veered off the road.
Garowe General Hospital reports also indicate 19 other soldiers were wounded.
The poor state of road could have been the main cause of the accident. However, there was no immediate response from authorities regarding the incident.
Puntland pledged to offer 3,000 soldiers to join the Somali National Army following a regional conference in Garowe in April. Enditem
