Six people including a Seven months old baby boy died in two separate accidents involving four vehicles at Nkawkaw and its environs at the weekend.

In the first accident four persons died on the spot on the 8th of September at Ecowas point hotel near Nkawkaw when an Accra-Bawku Yotong?Bus with registration No. GT 4668-12 with 46 passengers on board ran into a Daewoo Tico taxi cab with registration No.5405-W without observing that the taxi cab was branching to the left at about 2:30 am.

According to chief Inspector Osei Bonsu Nkawkaw Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) the driver of the tico taxi cab Prince Osei?and three occupants who were also identified as Kenedy Owusu, Mary Arthur and one unidentified male adult died on the spot while the two other passengers sustained various?degrees of injuries were rushed to the Nkawkaw Holy Family Hospital for treatment.

He said in the second accident another daewoo tico taxi also driven by one Kwaku Asante from Akwasiho to join the main Nkawkaw -Kumasi road without observing traffic ran into Kumasi-Accra Metro Mass Bus where a seven months old baby boy died on the spot at Akwasiho junction.

Chief Inspector Osei Bonsu? said one victim Kwasi Venyo age 19 years died while on admission at the Holy Family Hospital whole other dead bodies have been deposited at Agyarkwah? private hospital for autopsy.
