Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) has launched a new promotion with the view to offering its customers across the country the opportunity to watch matches in the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Dubbed, ?GCB 30 To Brazil? Promo, it seeks to increase the support base of the Black Stars in Brazil, among other things.

It also seeks to showcase Ghana as a sound investment destination in Africa.

As part of the promotion, customers of GCB are required to top up their current account balance with GH?1000.00.

Prospective customers of the bank, who also want to take part in the promo, are required to open current accounts and maintain an average balance of GH?1,000.00 or multiples of it for a period of about one month to enter the draw.

Thirty lucky customers in the promotion, which is expected to run from March 12, 2014 to May 31, 2014, would be presented with various prizes including an all-expense paid trip to Brazil to watch all Ghana?s group matches at the tournament.

Consolation prizes include TV sets, replica jerseys and replica footballs.

The Managing Director (MD) of Ghana Commercial Bank, Simon Dornoo during the launch of the promo on Tuesday in Accra, said Ghanaians across the country would have the opportunity to go to Brazil to support the Black Stars.

GCB, he indicated, has been a major sponsor of Ghana?s Black Stars at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the World Cup levels for decades.

He said the promotion is an ?innovation by the bank to support sports development in the country.?

He assured all customers that the bank would work with the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), the agency in the country mandated to regulate and oversee draws and games, to ensure transparency in the promotion.
