A Tanzanian government senior official told parliament on Monday that shortage of land surveyors is slowing down the country’s land formalization process.

Deputy Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Angelina Mabula said there is a shortage of 1,411 land surveyors.

“The demand for land surveyors is currently 2,957 across the country, but we have only 1,546,” she told lawmakers in the capital, Dodoma.

“The government will continue to set enough budget for employing more land officials every year in an effort to meet the required standards,” Mabula said. Enditem
