The Dr. Boniface Aniebonam led political party in a statement by its Media Officer, Dipo Olayoku in Lagos, advised that, ?In the spirit of Eid- El-fitri, we urge both Governors Raji Fashola of Lagos State and Peter Obi of Anambra State to be guided by National interest and the interest of their people who have inter-married and live in their different communities, before it degenerates into inter-tribal acrimony.?

?They should not play politics with the unity and harmonious relationship of people.  Yorubas and Igbos are good friends.

?Nigeria already has more than enough bite of troubles to chew and so for this reason, as we celebrate the season, it behoves on Nigerians to go down on their knees to ask for Allah?s intervention in the affairs of the nation.

?Beyond that, Nigerians must rededicate themselves to the service of Allah and our fatherland.  We should continue in that spirit of sacrifice for the sake of our fatherland, and should see ourselves as children of the same father and as such should live together in peace, eschew violence and bitterness.  So when issues arise between us, let us resolve them like brothers,?

The party noted that Nigerians are not doing what they ought to be doing, rather they are quick at finding faults, ?We as a people are not doing what we should do.  Nigerians dwell so much on finding faults, instead of pooling resources towards solving our problems.?

They however noted that despite all odds, that the nation still have some things to cheer about, especially the registration of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

?In spite of all the mishaps in the country, Nigerians have something to cheer, with the registration of a new political party, All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).  It makes a new dawn in the political history of our country.  It is also a manifestation of the evolution of a sustainable and enduring democracy in the country.

?In this season of Ramadan, the time has come for our religious leaders to begin to take a fresh look at the message they are preaching.  Religion is supposed to shape a human being, to bring him or her on the path of rectitude.

?We believe what should be uppermost in our minds is tolerance, forgiveness, understanding and above all make utterances that promote peaceful co-existence and harmonious relationship among all ethnic groups in Nigeria.

?We believe that as Lagos State has become an abode for a large number of Igbos who are making their living here without molestation, so also do Onitsha and the inner most part of Igbo land provide an abode for Yorubas.

?We hereby reiterate our call for an amicable resolution of this misunderstanding in the interest of our peoples and the unity of the country Nigeria? the party stated.
