Mr Ato Panford, the MP for Shama has presented a cheque for GHȼ10,000.00 for the construction of offices for the Shama Traditional Council.

He indicated that Shama was an ancient fishing town and that the traditional council needed offices to befit its status rather than its current offices in the Fort Sabastian building in the area.

He said the fort, which served as a ruling hub for colonial masters and their perpetuation of all forms of inhumane activities was not befitting the status of the traditional council hence the move to procure land for the construction of a modern facility.

He therefore called on residents of Shama and other firms operating in the area to contribute towards the completion of the project by 2020.

The Traditional council was grateful to the MP for the gesture.
