Visitors may enter Sentosa, an island resort in Singapore, for free as the city state celebrates its 50th birthday, said the Strait Times on Friday.
5065237-Around_Sentosa_Island_via_the_Sentosa_Express_SingaporeVisitors, who enter Sentosa via the boardwalk, will not have to pay the admission fee until Dec. 31. Those who drive or take a taxi will enjoy free entry after 5 p.m. on weekdays, excluding public holidays.
Usual admission charges for cars and taxis range from 2 Singapore dollars to 7 Singapore dollars.
Chief executive of Sentosa Development Corporation Mike Barclay said the public are encouraged to re-connect with Sentosa and enjoy beautiful beaches and public spaces on the occasion of Singapore’s 50th anniversary.
Other highlights at Sentosa include the opening of the intra- island cable car line in May, which will transport visitors around the island. Enditem
