National Secretary Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)? Board of Trustees (BOT), Senator WalidJibrin, has faulted the calls for President GoodluckJonathan?s resignation, just as he said that the PDP was not moved by the ongoing merger talks between opposition parties. This was just as it said that it would yield no positive results owing to individual and selfish interests.

Addressing a press conference at the weekend in Kaduna in reaction to the call on President Goodluck Jonathan to resign, the BOT Scribe said, ?It is very unfair for any reasonable Nigerian or group to demand the resignation of Goodluck Jonathan at this critical time when all Nigerians need to unite in order to give the President necessary support needed to keep Nigeria one and give maximum assistance to curb the menace of insecurity in Nigeria.?

Similarly, Jibrin noted that individual interests in the opposition parties like Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) will clash with the larger interests of the parties and render the merger ineffective at the end of the agreement.

The senator who will not speak much on the 2015, said agitation about 2015 was capable of causing confusion and diverting attention of the President from the transformation agenda.

He assured thathis home state, Nasarawa State, will be captured by PDP in the next general election.
